WCU COPPER CONTROLLER

Walchems WCU Series Copper Controllers are opto-electronic on-line analyzers that measure the actual concentration of copper in solution. They are used in a variety of applications including electroless copper plating baths and microetch baths (including oxide-replacement types). Use of these controllers reduces the need for manual titration, improves yield and in microtech applications, improves productivity by reducing the frequency of bath change-outs.

The WCU Series models are low cost, microprocessor-based, menu driven industrial controllers. They maybe switched from electroless copper mode to microetch mode via a menu choice eliminating the need for a second controller. Up to four relays may be used as control outputs that are activated simultaneously. The outputs each have totalizers associated with them to track volume of chemistry pumped or pump on time. The backlit LCD display allows the user to view the copper concentration in grams per liter or in ounces per gallon, as well as deviation from set point. Immersible in-tank sensor or flows through out-of-tank sensor mounting styles are available. The fiber optic photo detection method provides stable, repeatable and accurate sensing of metal concentration. Measurement is uncompromised by bath aging, color shift or build up of precipitants. WCU Series controllers have self-diagnostics, calibration reminders and an optional 4-20 mA output option.

Concentration Read In Units Selectable between grams per liter (g/L) or ounces per gallon (oz/gal). Backlit digital display also acts as a bar graph for a continuous visual summary of measurement versus set point.

Four Separate Control Relays & Outputs May be used to add copper, caustic, formaldehyde or chelator/stabilizer chemistries. Each output has a replenishment totalizer which may be set in units of time or volume.

Self-Diagnostics Software, electronics and sensor are constantly monitored without having to take the controller off line. Any operator action needed messages are displayed.

Operator A d j u s t a b l e Concentration set point, alarm set points (high and low), dead band and pump on time are all easily adjustable. An interlock feature allows external devices (such as a flow switch) to interlock control

Programmable Access CodesSecure set point parameters. Program any four-digit access number or disable the code requirement entirely.

No Degassing NecessaryAnalog signal conditioning and a proprietary software algorithm eliminate the need for traditional degassing elements.

WNI NICKEL CONTROLLER

Walchems WNI Series Nickel Controllers are optoelectronic on-line analyzers that measure the actual concentration of nickel in solution, displayed in grams per liter or ounces per gallon. Use of these controllers in electroless plating baths reduces the need for manual titration, improves yield and automatically alerts the operator when maximum metal turnover limits have been reached which reduces scrap caused by over extending bath life. Exact set points are known precisely, eliminating the need for repeated adjustments or calibration.

The WNI Series models are low cost, micro-processor-based, menu driven industrial controllers. They are available as nickel-only, or with a pH control option which may be added in the field. Two separate pump outputs for the nickel and one for pH are used, each of which is capable of totalizing either pump on time, volume pumped or metal turnovers. The backlit LCD display allows the user to view the nickel concentration as well as deviations from set point.Flow through out-of-tank sensor mounting style conserves precious tank space. No degassing is necessary. The fiber optic photo detection method is u n affected by adverse conditions such as bath aging, color shift or build up of precipitants. WNI Series controllers have self-diagnostics, calibration reminders and an optional 4-20 mA output option.
